Scholarships and Prizes Policy
Awards, including scholarships, bursaries, grants and prizes are established by the University for the purpose of encouraging and recognising academic excellence, assisting particular categories of students to pursue academic studies, and fostering links between the University and the wider community. This policy describes how such awards are to be established and managed.
Student Success in External Scholarships and Awards
This procedure sets out the support available to high achieving students to encourage them to apply for external scholarships and awards.
Equity Scholarships
Terms and conditions for managing annually the award of a range of Equity Scholarships including: the Chancellor's Scholarships; Widening Participation Scholarships and the Griffith University Refugee Scholarship.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships
Terms and conditions for scholarships available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants which include: the Commonwealth Scholarships Program, Patience Thoms First Peoples (Honours and Postgraduate) Scholarships and Neville Bonner Scholarship. These terms and conditions must be read in conjunction with the Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines and Indigenous Student Assistance Grants Guidelines made under Section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
Chancellor's Medal for Excellence in the PhD Thesis
The policy describes the eligibility, criteria and selection process for the awarding of the Chancellor’s Medals for Excellence in the PhD Thesis.
Griffith Award for Academic Excellence
The Griffith Award for Academic Excellence is designed to recognise and promote high levels of academic achievement by students who have completed at least 40CP of courses over two teaching periods.
