Census Date

The census date for a course is the effective enrolment date and charges liability date for the course.

Certification

Certification is the verification and authentication of a student's entitlement to a qualification.

Certification Documentation

Certification documentation - set of official documentation (testamur, transcript and graduation statement) that confirms that a qualification has been completed and awarded to an individual.

Cheating

Dishonest conduct in assessment. Cheating is a form of academic misconduct.

Citizenship Requirements

To hold a Commonwealth supported place a student must be: an Australian citizen; or an Australian permanent resident or holder of an Australian Permanent Humanitarian visa; or be a New Zealand citizen.

Co-Convenor

Where a program such as a double degree has significant contributions from more than one school, a Co-Convenor from each school may be appointed to undertake the role of Program Convenor.

Commonwealth Assistance Notice (CAN)

A notice containing information about enrolment and use of Commonwealth assistance issued by your provider. If you are a Commonwealth supported student, the CAN will include information on: the units of study for which students have received Commonwealth assistance; student contribution amounts; the amount of any up-front payments students have made; the student's HECS-HELP assistance.If you have applied for FEE-HELP, the CAN will include information on: tuition fees for your unit(s); units of study for which you have received FEE-HELP; amount of any up-front payments you have made; loan fee for undergraduate units of study.

Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number (CHESSN)

Student's unique identifier as a recipient of Commonwealth assistance. Students use their CHESSN access the Australian Government's Study Assist website to keep track of their HELP balances.

Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS)

Education providers who wish to offer courses to international students on a student visa must be registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
