Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)

(previously known as HECS places): Student places which are available to domestic students (see Citizenship Requirements) and which are funded partly on the basis of the Commonwealth Grant Scheme and partly through the fee the student is charged, which is called the "Student Contribution".

Commonwealth Supported Student

A non-international student who is studying in a 'Commonwealth supported place' and is charged the fee called the 'Student Contribution'.

Completed Enrolment Status

A student has a completed enrolment status if they have completed all requirements of a program and are eligible to graduate.

Components of a qualification

Components of a qualification refer to units of academic work or courses, the completion of which leads to an AQF qualification.

Conferral

Conferral - occurs when a student has met the requirements of the qualification and the qualification is certified through the provision of a testamur.

Confirmation of Enrolment (COE)

Approved international education providers are required to supply the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) with details of all international students they accept. The University meets this requirement by issuing a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) to all accepted international students; which students use to apply for an Australian student visa.

Continuing Education

Continuing education are non-award courses or programs for students seeking admission into an award program, or wishing to develop their personal and professional skills in an area of interest.

Continuing Student

A student who commenced their program of study in a previous year and is re-enrolling in that program or a program deemed to be a 'like program', ie, not a new field of study.

Core Course

A course that is specified in the program requirements as mandatory for the award of the degree.

Co-requisite

A co-requisite course is a course which must be studied before, or at the same time, as another specified course.
