Course

A course is a component of a qualification in which the student enrols and on completion of which the student is awarded a grade (such grades appearing on a student's academic record). Learning outcomes, assessment tasks and achievement standards are specified for each course appropriate to a level and qualification type.

Course Catalogue

The Course Catalogue is the collection of courses offered by the University.

Course Catalogue Number

Each course is given a unique Course Catalogue number in the form nnnnAAA. AAA is the three character alpha code for the School which is the academic owner; and nnnn is the four character numeric code providing a unique identifier, within the following ranges: Undergraduate Career Level 1000 - 6999Postgraduate Career Level 7000 - 8899Research Career Level 8900 - 8999Non-Award Career Level 9000 - 9999. Course Convenor

The Course Convenor is the academic staff member so designated by the Head of School who is responsible for the course. (See "Role of Course Convenor".)

Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ)

A survey that gathers data about graduates' perceptions of the program they have just completed to measure their satisfaction with the learning experience. See Australian Graduate Survey.

Course Host

Courses are owned by academic element. The School which is the academic owner of the course is responsible for administering the course.

Course Level

A course is designated an academic level, undergraduate, postgraduate, research, non-award, indicating the level (career) of the program with which the course is most strongly associated.

Course List and Requirements

The Course List and Requirements provides a detailed description of the content of the program, its academic plans, core and electives courses and other elements, listed in terms of years and trimester of offer, that a student is required to complete to gain that award.

Course Profile

A document that specifies course requirements within the format specified in the Course Profile System and the Course Profile Template.

Course Profile System

The Course Profile System is a repository for storage, review and approval of Course Profiles.
